Have you ever wondered if it’s possible to have storage that is stylish? I’m here to tell you that it is! If you have children, then you have mess. It is inevitable. I sometimes feel like I am navigating an obstacle course when walking through just about every room in my house! So what to do with all of those toys, stuffed animals, costumes and everything in between? Storage doesn’t have to be limited to those unattractive plastic bins. There are many other, more attractive options out there. You are sure to find something to fit your décor! Here are some of my favorites!
Stylish Toy Chest
On one of my frequent trips to Pinterest, I came across an idea for this adorable (and stylish!) bench that doubles as storage. You could certainly buy something like this, but be prepared to spend some money. I am fortunate to have a pretty skilled father when it comes to carpentry, so he made this one for us. It is made from wood, with a piece of foam and fabric on the top to create a cushion. The best part? Not only is it cute, it opens to reveal a lot of storage! And it just so happens to be my favorite color! Score!
As you can see, it holds quite a bit! We have used it for toys, but are currently using it as a “dress up” trunk. You can see how I use this dress up trunk in my home here! As the kids grow, so can the purpose of this stylish little bench. It can just as easily be used for pillows and blankets down the road.
The Stylish Bag
As I have mentioned in other posts, I may or may not have a pillow problem. 😊 My husband has deemed this simple, yet useful item “one of the best purchases ever made.” The picture does not do it justice. It holds A LOT of pillows. You could also use it for throw blankets or even stuffed animals! I plan to purchase another one of these in the near future to house the growing army of Barbies in our home. The best part is, they are affordable and come in many colors, patterns and sizes.
Stylish Storage Ottoman
Ottomans are another great way to hide all those excess pillows, blankets or toys. Besides, they are a great place to put your feet up at the end of the day! You can have the best of both comfort and functionality by getting yourself a storage ottoman. I was beyond excited to find one that matched my color scheme! It is sturdy, stylish, comfy and holds a good bit of stuff.
When closed, nobody will even suspect what is inside. So if you are looking for a practical piece that can serve as a place to quickly toss stuff when that unexpected company shows up, then this is for you! Wayfair carries these but you can find similar ones on Amazon as well.
Stylish Hanging Storage
Last, but not least, is some hanging storage. When you are dealing with little ones in diapers, you know that you can quickly accumulate items such as wipes, diapers, creams, and lotions all over the place. We initially kept things under a bed in a storage bin until I found this stylish hanging organizer. It matched the colors in our room perfectly and has plenty of pockets to hold all the essentials. Now we can quickly grab everything we need! You can find hanging storage meant for nurseries or you could even repurpose a hanging fabric shoe rack for something like this. Be creative!
