All About Pumpkins Printable

Ready for another great set of activities for the kids? “All About Pumpkins Printables” is the latest in my “all about” series of activities that include an educational reader as well as lots of fun activities to reinforce the subject. This activity set includes a short educational story about the life of a pumpkin from seed to table, followed by six different activities to enjoy. Let’s dive in and take a closer look at each one!

All About Pumpkins

The first activity is a beautifully illustrated reader all about pumpkins. It will take your child on a journey from the seed to the ever so loved jack o lantern (and of course pie!). The reader can be printed or even projected to allow for a more interactive experience. It’s a great introduction to the activities that follow which will help to reinforce what your child has learned.

After reading through the short story, there an illustrate it activity, which allows your child a chance to draw a picture for each step of the pumpkin life cycle. The last block is open ended, so your child gets to choose their favorite pumpkin treat!

Sort It

Next, your child can cut and paste pictures and labels to put the pumpkin life cycle in the correct order. The pictures match the illustrations from the reader, which really helps to reinforce the story as they go back to look for picture clues. You can also use the cut-outs by adding felt backing and allow your child or class to put them in order on a felt board!

From there, you are given two different writing prompts to work on those writing skills! The first prompt is all about the pumpkin patch, the second all about pumpkin treats. Both provide a space to illustrate what your child writes.

Spot The Difference

Does your child love to play “spot the difference?” If so, then this next activity is sure to be a hit! Go to the pumpkin patch and see how many differences you can find! Don’t worry, answer keys will always be provided just in case. 😊

After you visit the pumpkin patch and find what’s different, it’s time for a brain break to do some coloring! My children love to color, so sometimes I just like to give them coloring pages for a little bit of fun. The only thinking they have to do here is choosing what colors to use.

Pumpkin Patch Booklet

Last, but not least, is a short reader about a trip to the pumpkin patch that is written using highly recognized words, making it a great story for your child to try to read to you! They can read and then color the story book if they choose to. These all about pumpkins printables are way to learn about pumpkins when you can’t take a trip to the pumpkin patch!
