My name is Andrea and I am the mother of two beautiful (and quite active) children. I also homeschool my oldest and tutor English on the side through a great company that you can check out on my Vipkid page. It is a lot to juggle sometimes!
I have a wonderful, supportive husband of thirteen years. His favorite question has always been, “What’s for dinner?” When we first married the answer was often some form of hamburger helper. Haven’t we all been there? What a good sport my husband was!
Over the years I discovered how much I love to cook and try new recipes! Oh how I love to eat! But then came children. Suddenly I just didn’t have time to cook the elaborate, from scratch recipes. Oh what to do? Rather than go back to the boxed dinners I decided to try my hand at adapting recipes to fit my busy schedule. I am excited to say that I have had many successes (and failures of course)! Along the way I have grown to equally enjoy finding ways to make my home more relaxing. With so many ideas out there to choose from, I hope to make it a little easier for you by showing what has worked for my family and what hasn’t. So let’s get started!

Whenever my family has a gathering, there is never a shortage of food. I love to serve finger foods because they are easy to eat and even easier to make! Jalapeño poppers are one of my favorite appetizers so I love to duplicate the flavor in other recipes. You can make it into a dip […]
It’s time to talk about something awkward. Not the kind you feel when someone comes running up to you in public (and clearly knows you), but you have no clue who they are! The awkward we are going to talk about today refers to that odd space you have in your home that you have […]

Nothing says Christmas like the smell of gingerbread baking in the oven! You can enjoy the gingerbread flavor in the form of cookies, coffee, breads, cakes and more! Roll this cake up with some yummy frosting and it’s ready to head to the holiday party! The Gingerbread Cake: This gingerbread cake is very simple to […]
I don’t know about you, but if I can cook something in a crockpot then I am all about it! It is so convenient as you can throw a dinner together in the morning, set it to cook and forget about it! How easy is that? These stuffed peppers with sausage and couscous are easy […]
Most children learn by doing hands on activities, so I always try to find some sort of craft or game to go with what we are learning in school. Recently, we did a unit all about communities. Now more than ever it is important to teach what it means to be a community and who […]
Ever dreamed of starting your own blog but didn’t have a clue where to begin? If this sounds like you, then keep reading! *This post contains affiliate links* When I first thought of starting my own blog I knew absolutely nothing about it. Just the thought of creating my own website seemed daunting. How could […]
I love the different coffee flavors of each season. At Christmastime, I reach for a hot (or cold!) cup of peppermint mocha. Its rich, chocolatey and has just a touch of spice from the peppermint. What could be better than that you ask? How about a peppermint mocha in the form of a cookie! The […]
Have you ever wanted to redecorate a room but had no idea where to start? You are not alone! I am reminded of when I was planning our wedding all those years ago. Some women have their whole theme planned out from the time they are young. But not me! I had no clue where […]
