My name is Andrea and I am the mother of two beautiful (and quite active) children. I also homeschool my oldest and tutor English on the side through a great company that you can check out on my Vipkid page. It is a lot to juggle sometimes!
I have a wonderful, supportive husband of thirteen years. His favorite question has always been, “What’s for dinner?” When we first married the answer was often some form of hamburger helper. Haven’t we all been there? What a good sport my husband was!
Over the years I discovered how much I love to cook and try new recipes! Oh how I love to eat! But then came children. Suddenly I just didn’t have time to cook the elaborate, from scratch recipes. Oh what to do? Rather than go back to the boxed dinners I decided to try my hand at adapting recipes to fit my busy schedule. I am excited to say that I have had many successes (and failures of course)! Along the way I have grown to equally enjoy finding ways to make my home more relaxing. With so many ideas out there to choose from, I hope to make it a little easier for you by showing what has worked for my family and what hasn’t. So let’s get started!
When I think of fall, I think about all the warm spices that I love such as cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and nutmeg just to name a few. I also think about comfort foods that can warm me up on a chilly day. Having a nice hot breakfast can be a great way to help get […]

October is officially fire safety and prevention month! We all know the importance of teaching our little ones all about fire safety, but how do we make it fun? While fires are certainly no laughing matter, children are much more likely to retain information if you give it is fun. That doesn’t mean that your […]

There are a lot of things that symbolize the beginning of fall to me, one of which is comfort food. As the weather begins to cool off, I often crave something hot and comforting. This could be anything from a good bowl of chili or a favorite casserole. It just so happens that today’s recipe […]
It is time for another great apple recipe! This one is not only a great sweet treat for the grownups, it is also kid approved! I happen to have some pretty hard to please young palates in my home, so it is a big deal when a recipe gets their stamp of approval. These Harvest […]
I cannot tell you how excited I am that fall is finally coming! Every time I look out the window and see just a glimmer of red or orange in the trees, or hear the crunch of leaves under my feet, it takes me to a happy place. Why? I don’t know, but I have […]
